Effleurage Kneaded
My massage almost always begins with an effleurage (long, flowing stroke) as I apply massage lotion or oil on the person. I then move into a petrissage (shorter, circular strokes) that will turn into kneading, stripping muscles (more of a digging into the muscle tissue), and these are very common movements done by massage therapists.
Some broad had complained saying she was disappointed that my massage over any area of her body began with me "easing" (her poor description of an effleurage) and then moving into a more vigorous movement (poor description of a petrissage) and that I should have stayed with the "easing."
Basically, she wanted to be petted to sleep, but was hoping I could "remove" knots. Knots can't be worked on with lotion lightly being applied to your skin.
Know-it-Alls who don't know it all aggravate me.
